Charlotte, NC – VanVleet’s Vision 20/20 in 128-108 Win Over Hornets
If only the Raptors could play Charlotte every night, more specifically Pascal Siakam. In three meetings with Buzz City he is shooting a hair below 70% and averaging over 33 points per game. This afternoon was another stellar 36/7/7 performance. VanVleet added 20 points and 20 assists.
The Raptors took the lead early in the first quarter and never looked back. It was a 10 point lead in the first and 15 at the half. The now 39-39 Raptors could use some help from the Mavericks Sunday night to turn their half game lead to a full game.
Let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves however. The Hornets where without all five of their projected starters. They did get some surprise performances from Svi Mykhailiuk who had a career-high 26 points and Mark Williams added 15 points and 12 rebounds.
It is a much easier path to the playoffs as the 7th or 8th seed as one win and your in as opposed to the 9th and 10th will need two wins, one of which will have to be on the road.
Fluent Finale: The Raptors outscored the Hornets 90-44 in the paint in the first of their two game mini series. The teams meet again Tuesday night in Charlotte
Now you’re more fluent!
