Will Baton’s 20 puts exclamation point on Raptors 120-100 win over the Hornets

Charlotte, NC – Will Baton’s 20 puts exclamation point on Raptors 120-100 win over the Hornets

It wasn’t a great start for Toronto in the first quarter. Charlotte came out firing from three and took an early 29-25 lead. This could have been one of those games that the Raptors let slip away.

Toronto is pushing for the playoffs and wouldn’t let the inferior Hornets steal one. The second quarter the Raptors would go on a 15-0 run that saw them out score the Hornets 36-20 in the quarter and take a 12 point lead into the half.

The break didn’t provide much solace for the home team. Pascal Siakam lead the Raptors with 22 points and  14 rebounds to go with Chris Boucher’s 21 and Barton’s 20. A 19 point run from the end of the third and into the fourth proved to be more than enough to finish the season sweep of the Hornets.

Toronto has won five of its last six and have improved to 40-39 on the season and in a great position for the NBA play-in tournament.

Fluent Finale: The Raptors are 6-2 versus the Hornet in their last eight meetings. Each one of those games has been decided by double digits. Including todays 120-100 Raptors win.

Now you’re more fluent!
